6 cycles to go

I got a message from my doctor today. I had asked if chemo could start on the 5th of September so it wouldn't interfere too much with my fall schedule. It looks like that day is going to be the first one. Everything looked normal as far as the heart and kidneys are concerned. They will probably surgically insert the port into my neck when they do the surgery on the 21st.

Here are the dates each cycle will begin.

Sept. 5
Sept. 26
Oct. 17
Nov. 7
Nov. 28
Dec. 26

From what I gathered, I get one chemo drug the first day, another the next day, then go home the following day. I'll update you on the sponge bath situation as soon as I learn more details.

Take care.

Looks like a tough fall, but if anyone can stay strong through it, it is you. If the port doesn't work, ask the doctor about another technique, a link to which I have pasted below.

Looks about as often as you went to class at Wake, and probably less painful! Good Luck!

C.P.,
I've marked your dates down and have the old ladies in the Methodist Church praying for you. A few prayers from Clinton, Oklahoma couldn't hurt. Oh, did I mention the old ladies in Tulsa have you down as well.
see ya

Always late to the party, I finally learned your blog address and clicked in. Wow. I would never have guessed seeing you last week how much you've already come thru. I told Ashley I didn't know what to say so now you get it directly...never good at being concise, I'll go short hereafter.

Ashley got to watch me get all choked up last week (lest you get too touched I cried in King Kong, the most recent version and even sitting next to Jesse). I told her then how strongly I believe in the power of prayer and I've seen Him work modern day miracles in the lives of people I love. He may not always give us what we want most ardently, but He always gives us what we need to become the best and most useful messenger of His love and strength. God carefully selects us to achieve His purposes in the lives of those we touch. This blog alone demonstrates how greatly He chose you to inspire those who know and love you...and those who don't.

We don't always like the message or the style in which we receive it, but it is never given without intent and effect. I know that you will be given the strength to bear the days to come, the humor to buffer the suffering, and the faith to believe that through God all things are possbile. Hope you feel everyday the joy, love and prayers of those who care for you and your families returned in multifold. CP, you are a gift.

Friends of mine who had a baby born with a rare heart defect once shared this in their "blog." I loved it and I carry it with me:

Happy moments, praise God.
Difficult moments, seek God.
Quiet moments, worship God.
Painful moments, trust God.
Every moment, thank God.

Hope to see you coming by the shop sometime soon...I'll try not to mistake you for my blind date again.
Love,
Kim

A positive attitude is SO important, and I can tell from reading your blog you definitely have one AND a great sense of humor. Chemo is tough but I know you will hang in there...love to Ashley. Many customers have stated that after they have ordered these counterfeit, fake, imitation UGG's, they will arrive in a very plain, brown box that looked battered. ì (IE: sand, chestnut, chocolate, black) UGG boots. In addition, if you seem on the labels to the manufacturing site, you need to bear in mind the labels which exhibit "Manufactured in China" are authentic, and several others are counterfeits.
