Strike One

Quick day synopsis. Not exactly what I planned.

1. Left this morning in pouring rain.

2. IV and port placed this morning. Feels like Tommy Boy getting hit by the 2x4 but in the neck.

3. Problem with access to port. When they tried to give me fluids (for about ten seconds), the only things that got hydrated were my eyes. We'll leave it at that.

4. Fleming dropped scalding hot soup on my bare legs.

5. We'll do first treatment of chemo tomorrow after everyone is 100% sure everything is working correctly. Apparently this stuff is like battery acid if it gets outside the circulatory system.

6. In great spirits. I did plan on that. Bring it!

cp, the whole arditti clan is thinking about you. as my dad is on perm-cath part deaux, we know access is a bitch. we're praying for you and the skills of your doctors and we know the outcome will be a positive one. as for flems, there is little that prayer can do for that, but Gazpacho might be a better idea in the future. proud of your spirit.
all our love

CP,
Sounds like a bich of a day, but at least you still have your rugged good looks. We will be thinking of you.

C.P.,
Oh Fleming, that nervous bride has lost all control. I hope today is a better day. At least I hope things go more as planned. Your photos were quite impressive. See you in a few weeks.

#1 Let's just say scalding is a bit much ... this is hospital food we are talking about.

#2 He was more worried about his computer than his leg.

#3 If anything it was the best thing that happened all day because, finally, CP had someone to be angry with, and something interesting to put on the blog.

Now that's what sisters are for.

peath,
flems

Better to be scalded in the groin than snakebit.

CP-

Good stuff all around. The T-scars are coming along nicely, it appears. Too bad as I thought you'd have some real potential for Halloween.

Now this port thing to your heart presents an interesting opportunity. What else could we pump in there through this device? Cold Bud Lite? Maker's Mark? Maybe mashed potatoes? Or perhaps Ben & Jerry's ice cream?

In the UK right now and could certainly bring home some Cutty Sark, Abbott's Ale or the like if the docs say this is a multiservice port...

Be strong, Big Dog.

I hope you are being hand-fed strips of bacon right now. All I can think about is how much you wanted them to pass around trays of bacon at your wedding.... what a shame that they didn't follow through.....

I love it. How does the old saying go....Like a bull in a china shop? Or is it...like a bull in a hospital room? I'm only kidding Flems, you know I love ya. Way to keep it real. CP, keep the blogs coming, it is great to know you still have your sense of humor. I smell a book deal...... Love, Reid

Clyde, I cannot believe that I had NO IDEA what you have been going through these last several months. I just went by the store to say hey to Ashley and she said something about chemo and Clyde and I was very confused. I feel terrible that I am right here in Raleigh and haven't done a thing. Kirk and I wish you the best with the chemo..you will be in our thoughts and prayers and PLEASE, let me know what I can do(dinner, whatever). I am home now with the baby so have plenty of time to help. Keep your positive attitude and I will continue checking up on the blogs.

The Infrawave oven uses specific wavelengths of light that are emitted from high-frequency light bulbs, which means you'll be getting instant heat without the need for preheating like conventional ovens or toaster ovens and you'll get faster results than either as well. Personally, my view on this plumbed coffee maker goes like this: the price does not justify the type of coffee brewing operation. The timer is necessary so that you can have it set, with your coffee ready when you wake up. The room is perfect, the lighting is just right and the pillows are strategically placed. Check to make sure that belts are tight, that hoses are not plugged and that your vacuum bag is not full.
